I woke up so sore today from training this week. Claudia and Angela kicked my butt. This week has been busier at work as well with tax season in full swing. Balancing the training, the baby, the husband, the work schedule, and my meal plan has been difficult. It is definitely stressful. I am struggling with the fact that I may not be able to compete. The 12-week program is great, no complaints, but it's not free. We are putting Beckett in day care starting next week due to the husband's new schedule and it is going to be pricey. Childcare is so expensive!

With that being said, I have learned such valuable information in the last 7 weeks. I have a whole new mindset for eating clean and have learned so many great workouts and strategies for staying in shape and being healthy. I have met so many awesome ladies that are just amazing and I am so glad I embarked on this experience. I am forever grateful to my trainers, Angela and Claudia and the other ladies I have been training with! If anyone ever gets the opportunity to train with these ladies, it will absolutely change your life and outlook on healthy living, being in shape, and loving yourself. Do yourself and your family a favor and get healthy and fit. You will feel so much better about yourself and you will be in such better health. We need to take care of our bodies so that they last longer, feel younger, and carry us farther than we have ever imagined. The human body is a powerful machine that needs to be take care of just like any other powerful machine. Maintenance is always required!

This blog entry is a wake up call. Don't wait until next week to get to the gym or learn to eat right, start today. Most gyms are open 24 hours so you can even go at whatever time it is after reading this blog. Know it is going to be a challenge but have the mindset that you can do anything and that with any change comes discomfort, difficulty, and struggle. But with any change or new routine comes the time when you get used to the change and routine and it becomes habit and is no longer difficult or uncomfortable, it becomes part of the way you do things. Continue to always push yourself, set goals, and attain them. Start today and change your mind, body, and soul.

I'm off to bed...bootcamp in the morning. Good night!

Beginning Week #4

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 124px; height: 166px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_wc2-Cqc0rm0/TT0LVT_c1oI/AAAAAAAAAGc/0eg5UlxZhrE/s320/New%2BLoaf.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5565617175271364226" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 238px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_wc2-Cqc0rm0/TT0LVDT9tWI/AAAAAAAAAGU/FPIN_knZcrU/s320/before%2Bbaking.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5565617170794001762" />
It's Sunday night and I will be weighing in tomorrow starting the 4th week of our figure training program. I have already met some amazing women and I have started to see results already! I'm so excited. Tonight I made a great loaf that one of my trainers gave me the recipe for. Here's the recipe:

3 cups oats
1/4 cup Splenda or less (optional)
2 scoops chocolate low card protein powder
1 teaspoon of baking soda
20 pecans or almonds
1 tablespoon of cinnamon or more
*banana extract (optional)

Mix together and pour into loaf pan. Make sure the pan is non-stick or sprayed with cooking spray. Bake on 375-400 about 35-45 minutes. Make sure the middle of the loaf is done all the way through. Add more baking time if necessary. This should make 10 pieces each at about 146-166 calories.

The first time I made it I did 3 tablespoons of Splenda which was not enough so I would definitely do the 1/4 cup that the recipe calls for when you make it.

I need to make sure I get in my cardio everyday. It seems as though my body type needs as much of it as it can get. I am going to try and do my cardio before my training sessions but it's so early already. I train Monday, Wednesday, Thursday at 6 am and Saturday at 8:30am. I have been doing my cardio on some of those same days and on the other non-training days. Scheduling is hard since I am also working full-time and have Beckett on some of those days. Many of the other ladies training also work full time and some of them have kids too. It keeps me on my game that others are just as busy as I am and they get to the gym.

Tax season will be in full swing in about a week so I am curious how everything is going to work. I reduced my work schedule to 85% so that I can have my sanity. My little baby is growing up so quickly and I am determined not to miss it.

Well, off to bed and looking forward to my protein bread in the morning. Wish me luck with weigh in and my Monday morning workout.

Figure Competition Training

I am currently training for a figure competition with my wonderful trainers, Angela Farrar and Claudia Aquino. Angela first trained me prior and during my pregnancy. She is all about pushing you to better health and well being. I am just starting my 3rd week training for figure and I am sooooooo hungry this evening. We are put on a strict diet that is high in protein, low in fat, sodium, sugar, and full of veggies! If you know me I am not a veggie eater so this has been a huge transition for me. Also, no alcohol, soda, sugary drinks, etc... and a at least a gallon of water a day! Phew! Not to mention I am training and getting cardio in 6 days a week and I try to do it all before I go to work at 8 am so that I have more time in the evening with my Jeremiah and Beckett.

After two weeks I have lost 3% body fat, gained muscle, and down 1/2 a pound. Not bad! I was a little discouraged that I had not lost more weight, but I know that I have been exchanging my fat for muscle and inevitably it does weigh more. I am fitting into my pre-pregnancy jeans and my baby pooch is shrinking everyday. I can't wait for the final result. We compete in Culver City, California on March 26th. It should be such a blast. I just have to stay disciplined every week. It's tough! I swear the diet is harder than the workouts.

I am hoping to be a lean and ripped woman by the end of the 12 week program.

Jeremiah Graduated!

Who said three is a crowd?

So it has been 7 1/2 months and we are officially semi-seasoned parents. Who allowed this? After we figured out Beckett didn't come with an instruction manual and that no one was sitting around grading us on our performance as new parents, we realized that we would...well...wing it! Here a few stories since he was born:

Grocery Store - So I show up at the grocery store with my newborn carrier with my fresh newborn and I have all this anxiety about how I am going to conquer this task of getting groceries. I get a cart and I put my newborn carrier in the cart on the seat area of the cart and realize that the fancy newborn carrier I bought doesn't have a notch for my newborn carrier to rest. I frantically look around the grocery store to see if any of the mom's with babies have this same dilemma. Nope, they all had notches in their baby carriers. Crap, now what do I do! I rigged mine the best I knew how by wrapping the belt attached to the shopping cart around the newborn carrier handle and rested the newborn carrier on top of the shopping cart. So annoying! There was barely and room for my groceries. That was the least of my worries though. I felt incompetent, helpless, and super inferior to all the other mom's around. I felt like they were all looking at me like "this girl must not know about the notch on her newborn carrier" all the while I wanted to yell at the top of my lungs "it doesn't have one, SEE!"

She's so cute! - Everywhere I go, someone thinks my son is a girl. I'm guessing because he is so adorable that he could look like a girl. I don't even dress him in super pastel colors. He's generally in navy or bold greens and oranges. I'm going to take it as a compliment that he is just so darn cute. Well, my bestie Cathy and I decided to put a flower clip in his hair just to test the theory. The minute she put that flower clip in his hair he transformed into a baby Amber. So weird! He also started immediately crying almost as if he knew the satisfaction we were getting at partially fixing him up. Cathy ran upstairs and grabbed one of her daughters dresses that we could try on him for the heck of it, but we held back our desire so that we wouldn't torture him too much.

A Yellow Fountain on Daddy's Speakers - If I got a dollar for every time I got peed on since we welcomed our bundle into the world, I'd be rich. Boys pee A LOT! So one day I'm changing him on our pack in play and he starts peeing this big stream and it was flowing up and out of the pack and play and right onto Daddy's precious speakers. I was laughing so hard I don't think I even stopped the stream. I could barely catch my breath. The look on Jeremiah's face when I told him was priceless.

Throw Up Tidal Wave - I was out my friend Cathy's house once again and I had stopped by to say hello and chat a bit. I had Beckett with me and he had been a bit mellow since we had taken him to the doctor that morning for his vaccinations. I gave him a bottle as I was talking to Cathy and as in any mom's routine, I burped him. Mid-sentence a tidal wave of throw-up projects over my shoulder and all over Cathy's couch. I am not exaggerating, it literally projected everywhere. I was so stunned. I had never seen anything like it before. I paused and wasn't really sure what to do. Before I could think of what to do, my friend Cathy (veteran mommy) had towels all ready to help my clean up. I felt so bad about it! She didn't even skip a bit, it was almost if that was an everyday occurrence. I'm am so thankful for a friend like her!

More stories to come, I just don't have the greatest memory now that the baby arrived. I'm lucky I remembered I had this blog.

Beckett Christopher Beason

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_wc2-Cqc0rm0/Szm3ubLpByI/AAAAAAAAAFo/sIcmH1SnzC4/s320/IMG_1493.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5420565634715551522" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_wc2-Cqc0rm0/Szm3t-KTqxI/AAAAAAAAAFg/3gpfeElR0Z4/s320/IMG_1477.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5420565626925329170" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_wc2-Cqc0rm0/Szm3tmxh7dI/AAAAAAAAAFY/ht4bNSqu5Yo/s320/IMG_1470.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5420565620647390674" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_wc2-Cqc0rm0/Szm3s6cJKII/AAAAAAAAAFQ/kxRp6dg6xL4/s320/IMG_1464.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5420565608746526850" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_wc2-Cqc0rm0/Szm3sejMFYI/AAAAAAAAAFI/N9mK9tHAIWg/s320/IMG_1442.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5420565601259885954" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_wc2-Cqc0rm0/Szmz6xOP2QI/AAAAAAAAAFA/d3JO6_6hocg/s320/DSC05957.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5420561448743983362" />
Well here he is folks...Mr. Beckett Christopher Beason. Born November 16, 2009 at an even 7 pound and 20 inches long. He arrived after 19 1/2 hours of labor at 8:51 pm on a Monday evening. We love him to pieces. He is everything and more than we could ever imagine. He has brought an unexplainable joy to our lives and we can't imagine life without him. We definitely looking forward to having more of these wonderful beings.

I did a horrible job at documenting the last 4 weeks of my pregnancy but oh well, I'm not the greatest at remembering to write in journals, let alone blogging, but I will try to make a better effort. I'm guess I need to change the name of my blog to something a little more relevant. Any ideas?

Beckett is already 6 weeks today and growing like a weed! He is on hypoallergenic formula since he has a sensitive tummy like his mommmy and daddy. He's doing well and becoming more alert everyday. I can't wait for him to smile that will be just icing on the cake. He is starting to sleep a little more at night which I appreciate but he's still awake about every 3 hours. He has the fullest head of hair you've ever seen on a new born. He actually had his first haircut at 5 weeks. I love it! He has a little pho-hawk happening. He's very chic.

We have been so very blessed with baby stuff. This little man has everything he could possibly need. Many of my friends have given us hand me down boys clothing that is so gently used it looks brand new. This guy has more clothes than I do! Of course I can't keep myself from buying him something here and there because it's so darn cute. Also, mommy can't shop because she's still a good 15 pounds heavier than normal and I refuse to buy anything at this stage.

Tomorrow I have to have surgery and will be on an additional 6 weeks of maternity leave. I had some complications healing from my episiotomy and have to have it re-done. Yeah, pretty crappy. I will be down for the count after tomorrow. I was just starting to feel like myself again (minus some pain). Oh well, hopefully everything will heal right this time. Brightside, I get more time with my little one before I go back to work.

Well I have posted some pictures from week #1 for your viewing pleasure! I promise to continuing blogging....

35 Weeks Pregnant!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_wc2-Cqc0rm0/St1Fx9f5ZgI/AAAAAAAAAEw/xOqwe8UlseM/s320/IMG_5240.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5394544653283976706" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 213px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_wc2-Cqc0rm0/St1FxI2tt3I/AAAAAAAAAEo/GGBxotNX_nU/s320/IMG_5088.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5394544639152600946" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 213px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_wc2-Cqc0rm0/St1FwrbYUaI/AAAAAAAAAEg/IiBUVm-BM1k/s320/IMG_5070.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5394544631253324194" />
Hooray! We are almost there! Only 5 weeks to go, or maybe less! We cannot wait for the arrival of our little Beckett Beason!

My friends and family threw me a wonderful shower a week ago and it was just amazing! I couldn't have asked for anything better! It was awesome. We were blessed with all kinds of things for Beckett. He will definitely be a well dressed baby.

We are down to the wire now and making lists left and right of things we still have to get done. Jeremiah starts the police academy on November 19th so we may get induced on Friday, November 20th so that we have the weekend to welcome our baby. It's all up in the air though, we still aren't sure what we want to do. Part of me wants to induce and the other part of me wants to make sure he arrives when Jeremiah is available to be there and doesn't have to be pulled out of the academy to go to the hospital.

Only God know!

I am feeling good, but definitely ready to meet Beckett and have a waistline again.
I am getting tired of stretchy waist pants. It's funny the things we take for granted such as...zippers, buttons, regular bras, tying your own shoes, putting socks on by yourself, painting your own toe nails, washing your feet without falling over in the shower, clear skin, high heels, not being out of breath going up the stairs, running, peeing more than a trickle, peeing every few hours instead of every few minutes, pooping regularly, etc... The list goes on.

I am still addicted to crushed ice...I get a 44 oz cup of it every night when Jeremiah gets off work. It's so funny! Who would have thought!

30 weeks and now starts the countdown,,,

I am officially 30 weeks as of this last week quickly approaching 31 weeks...I just can't even believe how fast this pregnancy has flown by!!! I took my maternity photos last weekend and I am dying to see them. I get to see them this Wednesday. I'm so excited. It was so much fun. My good friend Norina did a full blown photo shoot for Jeremiah and I. I promise to have some of those pictures up as soon as I get them.

We are quickly approaching one of the most busy times I think in our whole marriage. We have lots of things to do over the next two months and Jeremiah is most likely starting the police academy on November 19th...yes that's 6 days before my due date. We have 3 classes we are taking during October for preparation for our little boy and I have my last tax deadline for the year on October 15th. Lots of Dr. appointments coming up with the specialist and my OB as well as insurance paperwork for my short term disability and so on. I'm just thankful that we have the nursery pretty much finished.

I am doing well just trying not to get overwhelmed with everything. I have officially gained 25 pounds and I am now 155 pounds. Crazy! I am getting more tired these days. I definitely can't go out and run a bunch of errands anymore. My belly gets heavy. It sucks because I like being really active, but my body is like slow down! I currently have not found any stretch marks so I am very thankful for that. If you saw this basketball of a tummy you would probably think how could I not have stretch marks...two words...Good Jeans! Thanks Mommy! No swelling or heartburn yet either which I pray they stay far away. My mom describes having babies as piece of cake, so I hope I have the same outlook. So far so good...I have been very fortunate. Praise God because I have heard horrible stories from many different people. Why is it by the way when you are getting married or having a baby everyone tells you like the worst stories ever about their child birth or marriage woes. It's like really..."Thanks for throwing up on me!" Here I am looking forward to having a baby and people just rain on your parade. You say things like "I feel great!" and they say "Just you wait..." Ge'ez people...be a little more optimistic! Another one is when someone asks me what I'm having and I say boy and they are like "oh just get ready." Well, yes I plan on getting ready for whatever I'm having, just because your kid was horrible doesn't necessarily mean my kid will be the same. People are so funny!

Sorry for the rant...it's just irritating and rather comical. And you know it's true!

Beckett is moving like crazy all the time and especially when mommy is trying to sleep. He especially likes the right rib cage and practices soccer on it throughout the day. I think he purposely does it so I just don't forget all of sudden that he is there. I was interviewing UNLV students the other day and it was hilarious because I felt like my belly was bouncing around so much that the candidates were going to see it. It was very distracting for me, so I could only think they could see it too.

Well, I plan on being back in the next few days with lots of pictures and another update for week 31! We are also having an ultrasound on Tuesday Sept. 22nd so I will have more ultrasound pictures too. This time I won't leave them to melt in my truck. that's what happened to the last ones we had. Please pray they continue not to find any birth defects...this is a follow up ultrasound from the 21 week ultrasound we had. They are just going making sure that he still has nothing wrong with him.

28 Weeks...I can't believe how it is flying by!!!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_wc2-Cqc0rm0/Sp3haen-mKI/AAAAAAAAAEY/-WFNFvCClHU/s320/J+%26+I+at+the+Game+-+full+shot.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5376701375163832482" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_wc2-Cqc0rm0/Sp3hZypCUaI/AAAAAAAAAEQ/ZRo5t_7M87w/s320/Batman+Belly.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5376701363357110690" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_wc2-Cqc0rm0/Sp3hZRiezhI/AAAAAAAAAEI/tWGWzx86KdU/s320/Belly+26+weeks.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5376701354471247378" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_wc2-Cqc0rm0/Sp3hZGpLnVI/AAAAAAAAAEA/K4k6hamNEN0/s320/Belly+Front+View.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5376701351546559826" />
So tomorrow I will be 28 weeks pregnant (or 7 months). It's just crazy how the time is flying by. I feel like I have a million things to do between now and Beckett's arrival. I've been really busy at work so finding the time to prepare for the baby has been a challenge.

Since I have blogged in 5 weeks (I know, I know), there has been a lot of things going on. First off, I had my glucose test and iron test of which both came back normal, so that's great news. I still crave crushed iced all the time and it's not because I'm anemic, I'm just freakin' hot. I have been walking around feeling like it's 140 outside. I'm freezing poor Jeremiah out of the house. I look over at night and he has ALL the covers on him and I have none and I'm still hot. I never thought I would see the day that I wasn't cold and night.

Well, let's see what else? Oh yeah, Beckett is constantly kicking or punching or head butting my right lower ribs and man is it sore. I feel like he's bruising them. He's a very active little boy, especially at night when I am ready to go to bed. We can now see my stomach move when he moves...so weird and it feels even weirder. I am constantly walking around holding my right side. He must really like it over there because the rest of me is just fine. I haven't had anymore lower back pain since I eased up on the lower back exercises at the gym. I get cramping here and there if I'm up walking around doing a lot of things for long periods of time. That doesn't feel so pleasant. I actually lasted about 4-5 hours at Sea World walking around in the heat, but by the time we walked to the car I was dying. It was so crowded and I felt like I had to walk with my hands on my belly with my elbows out like I was protecting a football. I can't complain, I have had a much easier pregnancy than many others I know. I just am having a hard time picturing my belly getting any bigger but I know it will!!! I currently have gained 23 pounds. Holy Crap! I can't believe I already gained that much, it just crept up on me. Fortunately, I feel like it's all belly. I've never been over weight in my life so gaining that much weight is so weird.

On another note, we met the kookiest pediatrician. I won't name names, but he was seriously weird and did not at all make me feel like I could trust him with my child. In fact, I wouldn't even want to see him myself. I asked various questions about circumcisions and he said he was 'pretty good' at them. PRETTY GOOD????? You better be damn good if you are going to go anywhere near my little boy's pee pee. That about gave me a heart attack. Also, the way he said the word penis was like the word was some kind of profanity and he wasn't supposed to say it so he said it very quietly. I was like, is this guy for real? I also asked him a few other questions and after that he walked out and Jeremiah and I looked at each other and were like NO WAY! There is no way this guy is going to be Beckett's pediatrician. Wish me luck at the next appointment on October 1st. Hopefully the next pediatrician is way better!

So update on the nursery....wallpaper is up thanks to my wonderful mother who put it all up for me. I even helped a little (my first hand at wallpapering). We also picked out the material to make the bedding and it's going to be adorable. Sorry no pictures yet, not until it's complete! We also found the cutest material for a baby blanket. I couldn't believe how well it went with the wallpaper.

I have a few Dr. appointments coming up so next time I blog, I'll fill you in on how they went. We will be seeing the specialist for an ultrasound again to look for any defects or problems that they may have not see at 22 weeks. We are praying for another good report.

23 weeks! This pregnancy is flying by. It's crazy I felt like I just found out I was pregnant last week or something. I am definitely looking pregnant. My belly is way out there already. I'm carrying the baby all out in front which is good, but it's putting pressure on my back which isn't so fun and may only get worse. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have to sit at a computer all day. I find myself having to do a few laps around the office every few hours so I feel better.

Baby is moving like crazy...Jeremiah can now consistently feel him move...the baby enjoys somersaulting, head banging, and karate chopping from what we can tell. He is especially active when we are watching Heroes, well at least during the episode we were watching late last night. It's the weirdest, coolest feeling. Once you realize something is in there you then start to realize that "that something" is going to have to come out at some point which is a whole new topic.

We still have lots to do like write up our birth plan, take our classes, decorate the nursery, and mentally prepare ourselves for the bundle of joy on the way that comes with no user manual, and there are no returns or exchanges. We registered the other day which was very funny...talk about the blind leading the blind. We must have stared at different types of bottles for 30 minutes. There are way too many options. It basically went like this "What about this?" (Amber), "Sure" (Jeremiah). "What's this for?" (Amber) "Not sure, but we should probably add it to the registry" (Jeremiah). We really had no clue, it was AWESOME! I guess that's what it is all about.

I was reading about epidurals the other day and had this strange idea in my head that I could possibly attempt child birth without one. I was thinking who do I need to prove my guts to? No one. If anything it's the overly competitive part of myself that thinks everything is a contest even though I'm the only one competing an no one is watching. I honestly have been through enough physical pain and suffering in my earlier years and there is no reason I should attempt to have this baby the hard way. Now for those women who had their babies all natural...more power to you...that's awesome! You ladies are brave. If I so happen to have this baby without one, I can join your ranks...but at this point pass me the epidural.

So I constantly have this twinging on the right side of my rib cage like pulling or stretching...it's so uncomfortable. I think it's from my belly stretching. My belly is seeming to amaze me everyday. My belly button is almost non-existent and I can see inside of it which is almost flush with the rest of my belly. Crazy! I have a lovely belly button piercing scar too! If I could take back getting that pierced I would done it in a heartbeat. Oh the things we do when we we thought there were no consequences.

Cravings/Aversions: I am craving ice from Sonic all the time. Relax EVERYONE! I'm not anemic, just craving ice. Everyone I tell that I'm craving ice just about freaks out. I cleared it with my OBGYN and I'm doing just fine. I appreciate all the concern but I'm doing good. I'm also craving fruit popsicles! Mmmmmmm! I think I'm just craving ice and popsicles because it's soooooooo hot and I'm carrying around an extra 15 pounds. Chicken is still an okay item but I can't be the one preparing it or I won't eat it. I want fish bad, but I'm not supposed to have any of the kinds I want because they are so high in mercury. Another item that sounds amazing is powdered sugar donuts...but they make me sick...so I guess that's a good thing I don't eat them otherwise I might be gaining a lot of weight. Oh one more thing, not like I normally eat a lot of pork, but now that I'm pregnant the thought of pork makes me want to throw up.

The next Dr. Appointment is on August 12th. Just a check up on the baby, nothing fancy. At the end of September we see the specialist again for another HD ultrasound to double check that the baby still doesn't have any physical markers for Down's Syndrome. So far so good. We are praying he will be perfectly healthy. We declined having an amniocentesis because of the risk of miscarriage. We figure we are having this baby either way so why jeopardize the pregnancy. According to the specialist our chances of having a baby with Down's Syndrome is 1 in 82. I know these people are professionals, but I don't believe it. I believe he will be just perfect.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://thebeasonbellyblog.blogspot.com/2009/07/23-weeks-im-sorry-i-havent-blogged-in.html' title='23 weeks! I can definitely tell I'm starting to grow more rapidly. I seriously need to find some more work maternity pants or I'm in trouble. You can't find decent maternity slacks anywhere, it's awful. Keyword is decent! I know that there are places with slacks, but they are made with the worst material for a pregnant woman in the summer.

Each day Beckett is moving more and more...it's feel so weird but it's also comforting knowing he is alive and well. If I'm growing and he's moving, these are good signs. Yesterday I received a phone call that a specific level of something in my blood was elevated so they are sending me to a perinatologist for more tests. I swear sometimes we know too too much. Back in the day, you didn't even have ultrasounds or blood tests and people just guessed they were pregnant by the growing belly and lack of a period. I'm convinced Beckett is fine and trying to remind myself that everything is going to be just perfect. Emotional roller coaster I tell you what!

Today Jeremiah and I are going to go look at possible nursery themes, this has proved to be a most difficult task. I really don't want to do the jungle theme nursery, which seems as though is the only one that exists. If you have looked at boys nursery bedding, you know what I mean ;) I know he will never know the difference, but whatever, I want it to be cute!

Belly pictures will arrive later this evening...I need Jeremiah to take the picture and he is busy at the moment mounting our television.

19 Weeks and people are actually noticing I'm Pregnant not just a little chubby!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_wc2-Cqc0rm0/SkxDij9N6rI/AAAAAAAAADY/7tOc9vnYqKE/s320/Tiana%27s+Visit+%26+19+Week+Belly+Pics+006.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5353728318083295922" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_wc2-Cqc0rm0/SkxDibYNDOI/AAAAAAAAADQ/ae-1C3XerF4/s320/Tiana%27s+Visit+%26+19+Week+Belly+Pics+005.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5353728315780566242" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_wc2-Cqc0rm0/SkxDiLKbnLI/AAAAAAAAADI/C_z57KJcqTs/s320/Tiana%27s+Visit+%26+19+Week+Belly+Pics+004.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5353728311427833010" />
Well, I'm nineteen weeks and doing great! It's that fun stage where I actually look pregnant and not just a little chunky. I've officially gained a total of 10 pound which is an adjustment. I was doing push ups the other day and many it's much harder with an extra 10 pounds.

Today Jeremiah and I toured Centennial Hills Hospital which is where we are planning to deliver. It's a pretty new hospital and we absolutely loved it. The nurses were great and the facility was amazing. Everyone was so helpful and it was a very comforting atmosphere. Not your typical hospital feel. While we were there we pre-registered and that took a good hour, filling out paperwork, signing, etc...It was nice to get that done so that I can check that off my list. We also got information about labor & delivery classes, breast feeding classes, and Lamaze class. After we left the hospital we went over to Pottery Barn Kids and Daagerman's and looked at boy nursery bedding. Man it's tough to find something unique and of good quality. What sucks is that most bedding has to be ordered online so you aren't exactly sure of the quality of the product.

I have some pictures below taken today and I even threw a front view picture in but it doesn't quite show the roundness yet. I'm feeling really good and feeling the baby move more often, he is quite a little active guy moving around. It's the strangest feeling like you have an alien in your belly or something or you had some sushi that went all wrong and maybe wasn't quite dead yet when you ate it.

Awwww, sushi...miss that big time! Don't worry, I'm staying away from anything raw as much as Ahi sounds amazing!

Enjoy the pics!

Eighteen Weeks and Wearing Stretchy Waist Pants...

So I know being pregnant isn't about feeling amazing in your clothes...but seriously, why not? I mean you already have to gain weight you might as well feel good in the process. There is something about elastic waste bands that just feels so unflattering, but man is it comfortable. I found this store called Bellies and Blossoms and they have some cute stuff in there for pregnant women. Stuff that makes you feel stylish still but the clothes come at a serious price. Although there is this line called Shades that also sells maternity clothes and they have great maternity t-shirts that fit really well.

So this week I am officially 18 weeks along. We had another ultrasound and baby is doing well. Everything looked and measured good. Thank the Lord! We were in such amazement during the ultrasound, it's just awe inspiring. The baby is moving a lot and I just started feeling him move more and more over this week. It's a bizarre feeling, but a good one because he's letting me know he's in there and doing well. The ultrasound pictures are below and also a new 18 week belly shot. I have been feeling really good, but 8 hours a day at work is my limit, I get pretty tired any more hours after that.

We purchased a crib, amoire, and change station/dresser over the weekend and got the deal of the century on it, $550. We found it on craig's list and it was in great condition, not to mention the seller's were great people and just so happened to know my dad really well. Vegas is so small sometimes!!! We changed out the hardware from wood to brushed silver and the set looks amazing. I'm so proud of our find. I will put pictures up later when we finish it. No peeking yet!

We are still in search for the perfect nursery theme, but I want it to be unique and with not so many pastel colors. The search is still on...

Let's see, the cravings are still here and there, chicken is still kind of gross, I still really like chocolate milk (no sugar added of course), and beef sounds great. I also really enjoy the wonderful smell of home depot more than usual. I could just walk around there for hours inhaling the smell. Weird, I know!

Well enjoy the pictures....and I'll be back next week!!!
<img style="display:block; I mainly can't keep the tummy in any longer. I give in to wearing non-maternity pants. This morning I tried wearing some black slacks for work and I couldn't even get them close to zipping or buttoning. It was a strange new land. I hate to brag but I have always had a flat stomach so suddenly having a belly is so foreign. I have officially gained about 6-7 pounds but didn't really start feeling it until this last Sunday. A trip to Victoria's Secret for new underwear and bras wasn't pleasant either...let's just say I'm not the size I was and I know it's only going to get worse. Honestly though, it's not that bad...I just have to make sure my hair looks cute and I feel pretty darn good. I'm still training with my amazing trainer Angela twice a week which helps me feel like I am keeping strong...she gave me a butt kicker of a workout yesterday, but it feels good to remain active.

The cravings lately have been chocolate milk, SUSHI, corn chex, red meat, pasta, slurpees, fresh corn, and a random bout of tomatoes with mozzarella. Things that gross me out...raw chicken and then having to cook it, breaded meat, nutri-grain bars, caramel flavorings, and I'm sure many other things, but I try not to think about them.

We have talked about names since we found out the gender. We are about 96% sure we are going to name him Beckett Christopher Beason. DON'T STEAL IT OR WE MAY HAVE TO HUNT YOU DOWN! Everyone keeps asking me what it means, but honestly we just liked the name Beckett. Christopher is my dad's name and he is amazing so it's only fitting I would have that middle name for my first born son. I told Jeremiah that his family gets the last name, so my family gets the middle name. He laughed at me.

Well here are the new belly pictures as promised and on time for my sister to be updated, I'm not really sure if anyone else reads this.

Good Night Moon!

16 Weeks... I am officially feeling like I am really pregnant. Clothes are beginning not to fit, although I am trying to squeeze into my favorite jeans with a belly band, but I think after this week I may need to throw in the towel for comforts sake. It's been fun knowing the sex, so now we are talking about names and nursery themes and what not. We have narrowed down some names and I am very excited about a particular name. I can't share until we've made our decision. Baby name thieves are prevalent these days. Today we spent the day overwhelming ourselves with looking at baby furniture, strollers, and car seats. By the way, they make the CUTEST diaper bags ever, I can't remember the company, I think it was called CAKE by Petunia. So adorable....I know functionality is better, but if I have to go through the labor pains, I get to have a cute diaper bag.
Well, I'm exhausted and looking forward to some much needed rest. I'll blog more this weekend. We are so excited! I knew it from the beginning, I just had this feeling we were having a boy. We went to a 4d ultrasound place called Vegas Baby and had a 45 minute session of video and pictures of our little boy. It was so exciting to see him moving around and waving hello. He was a little shy at first, but then he started moving around. We weren't sure if we would be able to see the gender or not, but sure enough he had his bait and tackle. I still think Jeremiah is in shock...this was the first time he saw the baby move and then to find out we were having a boy was like sensory overload. I'm jumping out of my skin currently. My sister, Dawnya, was also able to share in the joy and it was very exciting having her there. I'm glad she could be a part. Here are the pictures of our little BOY on the way!<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_wc2-Cqc0rm0/SimbGueL11I/AAAAAAAAAB4/dI7gR-f_SGQ/s400/IMAGES+2009+15+WEEKS_23.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343972972707960658" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_wc2-Cqc0rm0/SimbGnVZkGI/AAAAAAAAABw/3oCVJtSG0Wg/s400/IMAGES+2009+15+WEEKS_11.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343972970792063074" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_wc2-Cqc0rm0/SimbGe22SVI/AAAAAAAAABo/0TcWZq9_0PI/s400/IMAGES+2009+15+WEEKS_27.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343972968516438354" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_wc2-Cqc0rm0/SimbGebZVXI/AAAAAAAAABg/35Kh9hDBd9U/s400/IMAGES+2009+15+WEEKS_24.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343972968401294706" />

3 month Ultrasound and Belly Pictures

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_wc2-Cqc0rm0/Sh4DqLWhPYI/AAAAAAAAABY/NJK7WRDPkeU/s320/Profile+002.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5340710231244619138" />

So now that I have figured out this blogging thing, I will do everyone a favor and try to keep them up to date on our pregnancy. I am 14 weeks today (3 1/2 months) and I am feeling pretty normal. I've just been tired and only nauseous here and there, but other than that feeling pretty great. I train with my awesome trainer Angela (www.sexyfitbody.com) twice a week to keep me in shape during my pregnancy. We are anxiously waiting to find out what we are having. I think it's a boy and Jeremiah thinks it's a girl. Either way we will be happy...we would love to have both. Everyone weighs in on their opinion, it's kind of funny.

I started out weighing 129.8 and I'm currently at 132.4...a few pounds up, but I'm sure that's nothing compared to what I'm in for over the next few months. I had a 3 month ultrasound on 5/11/09 and the pictures are below. Jeremiah took a 14 week belly picture of me as well so we can track the progression outward. Enjoy!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_wc2-Cqc0rm0/Sh4Dp78J1LI/AAAAAAAAABQ/0v2DyAp30sA/s320/Profile.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5340710227107501234" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_wc2-Cqc0rm0/Sh4DpnQaxdI/AAAAAAAAABI/QMeIu1JQ2zE/s320/Praying+Hands+007.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5340710221555353042" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_wc2-Cqc0rm0/Sh4DpaO3EoI/AAAAAAAAABA/hk0gASUNYPk/s320/Pictures+for+Blog+014.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5340710218059158146" />

Blood test and more blood tests

If there is anything in life that I am officially an expert in, it's the area of blood tests, IV's, and urine samples. Jeremiah and I were all pumped to go and see our new little peanut. I really wasn't sure what to expect, but I knew that it was important for us to hear a heartbeat. As the technician found the baby, we heard and saw the heartbeat. It was the neatest thing I had ever seen or heard. As my husband and I were having this amazing moment, the technician proceeded to tell me the heart beat was slow and that this could mean two things: 1) the heartbeat just started beating recently and had not yet picked up, or 2) the pregnancy was not going to be viable and it would only be a matter of time before the heart stopped beating. I immediately was worried and the excitement of our first ultrasound was crushed. I didn't know what to think or do, so I did what I always do...I Googled it. BAD IDEA! Everything I found on the internet ended in miscarriage. I wasn't going to believe it but was way stressed out. Jeremiah took me to my favorite restaurant PF Chang's to cheer me up, but not even Chang's Spicy Chicken did the trick. I was going to be worried until my doctor called. My doctor didn't end up calling so I went down to the office 4 days later. They squeezed me in and apologized for any distress the technician may have caused. They did an ultrasound on the spot and sure enough the heartbeat was perfect and the baby was just fine. I was so relieved and thankful.

I think I'm pregnant!

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_wc2-Cqc0rm0/Sh36QV9cddI/AAAAAAAAAAo/e6g00y3pcX4/s320/Pictures+for+Blog+020.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5340699891810989522" />
So I promised myself that I would wait until Saturday, March 14th, to take my very expensive pregnancy test. At this point in time, I had thought I was pregnant like five thousand times during the 3 years we had been married so I was trying to cut down on the cost of the pregnancy tests and on the amount of times I cried wolf. My husband, Jeremiah, would just smile and nod, we had rehearsed this conversation so many times, he just assumed I wasn't. I seriously was convinced that I was really pregnant this time. I just knew it!

By Friday, March 13th, I couldn't stand it, I woke up and went into the bathroom, peed, and sat confused for a good twenty minutes. According to the much complicated instructions with lovely pictures, double lines meant pregnant. One single line, not pregnant. What is single line with another very, extremely faint line? Was I actually pregnant? I frantically called a friend who was well versed in baby making and she was convinced I was, but I was still hesitant and didn't want to get too excited. I read the instructions like 5 times, once for every day until I had an actual doctor appointment. Reality was I had already got my hopes up for a baby. To me and my husbands surprise I was pregnant as confirmed my doctor a week later. She assumed I was only 4-5 weeks along.
